I Got 99 Problems…Palsy Is Just One….

I absolutely love Ted talks. Yes,  I’m one of those people….lol

I came across this Ted talk video and found this brilliant comedian. Her name is Maysoon Zayid. She’s hilarious, very inspiring and I love her positive outlook on life. She didn’t let the fact that she has cerebral palsy stop her from accomplishing her dreams. I had to share this video with you because I want you to feel inspired to live out your dreams too!

If you want to know more about her you can read more about  her by clicking here and  here

"Love Birds"

We're all a little weird, and life's a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.

-Dr. Seuss

I’m inspired by the fact that these birds represent love and companionship.  I've learned a great deal about these birds by reading an article entitled, “The 14 Fun Facts about Lovebirds”. The scientific name for these birds is Agapornis.  Their life span is 12-15 years and they mate for life.

Below is the fist stage of the painting. I’ve painted much of the background and the drawing of the birds.

This is not the best picture.  I had to use my old cell phone, however, you can see I have laid out the colors and the painting is coming together.

I’m happy with the outcome of the finished painting.

I was going for a very colorful, fun loving piece. I hope this painting makes you smile and if you are in love maybe this painting makes you think about him or her. If you’re single (like myself) hopefully its inspiring and gives you hope for the future. :)

If you want to learn more about these beautiful birds please read the article here. http://bit.ly/1IkiqF4

Let me know if you are inspired by the beauty of these birds too!

Happy Day After Thanksgiving Day!

I hope all of you had a wonderful day with family and friends. If you found yourself alone this year I hope you still enjoyed a good meal (with a little peace and quiet)…hehe.

I joke but I love these people. I realize I have so much to be grateful for.

I love this time of year because if forces us to stop and reflect on what’s most important.

Time goes by so fast! Enjoy your love ones!

Enjoy life!

Ladies Who Wear Hats

God could not be everywhere and therefore he made mothers”

                                                -Rudyard Kipling

Mother’s Day inspired me to create this painting.

This is one of the earlier stages of the painting.  The background and ladies were laid out. The under painting (1st layer of painting) was done.

This picture shows the progress. I’ve begin to block in the colors for the hats.  I chose colors I felt would pop out against the background.

I’ve almost finished the hats and I’ve started to flush out the skin tones in this picture.

The painting is complete!

When I look at this painting I think about the women that wear hats when they go to church on Sunday morning or the women who wear hats in the boardroom. I ‘ve seen women rocking fabulous hat expressing their own personal style walking down the streets of Chicago. It’s something about women who wear hats. They elude this feeling of style and sophistication.

If you are a woman that wears hats this painting is dedicated to you!
