Hi, I’m Michelle. It’s nice to meet you! :)

“I create art for art lovers that seek inspirational, intriguing, and colorful paintings.”

I grew up in the relatively small town of St. Petersburg, FL. The eldest of four children, I am also the only girl. Our single mom raised us, and even though we were poor, we always had enough.

For a significant part of my upbringing, I lived in a three-story housing project across the street from the neighborhood community center. My brothers and I attended summer camp there for years, and its pool parties were the highlight of every summer.

In those days, I would see guys break dancing to Kool Moe Dee's "How You Like Me Now" or any songs by LL Cool J, Doug E. Fresh, Run DMC, and the list goes on and on...

The dances and the music inspired me. Their innovative talent was amazing! As a young girl, I knew I also wanted to inspire others!

I wanted to encourage and inspire through my art.

Today I’m a self-taught artist based in Altamonte Springs, FL. that has raised two children. I'm also a teacher, daughter, sister, and a good friend (if I do say so myself). I have a strong coffee addiction and a serious sweet tooth; Those Nestle pecan chocolate and caramel turtles are my favorites.

I continue to be inspired by great music and culture. Courageous women, love, and sensuality also influence my work.

When I have created a painting and all the ideas in my head come together with my feelings, I know I have achieved something remarkable. True bliss is when I look at a finished piece that I can proudly to share with the world.

Currently, I love creating stylized figurative works and abstracts.

I’m motivated to create stylized figurative works that express strength or sensuality. I don’t have to follow all the rules.  I let my observation skills suggest the personality of the figure I’m painting.

Abstracts provide me freedom from painting a specific type of reality. It’s great just to break away and only think about color, texture and composition when creating a work of art.

I want people to have fun experiencing art in various ways! Because of this, I produced coloring pages, a coloring book, and a notebook.

Art is amazing! If you find something that speaks to your soul— you love looking at it—you should own it.

In this blog, I will be sharing my art as well as my thoughts and inspirations. Sometimes there will be ramblings. Most times, there will be art that I hope inspires YOU!

Please join me on my journey to find the perfect balance between life and art.

Thanks for stopping by! XOXO

Michelle
